Some Doors Close Quieter than Others. Energy Tax Credits Set to Expire.

We’ve been keeping an eye on the one for a while. A few years back, the government rolled out some solid incentives to help folks upgrade their homes—better systems, lower bills, less waste. It was a good deal. But now, that deal’s about to slip away.

This summer, Congress passed a new bill that speeds up the end of two key tax credits (Section 25C and 25D). For most homeowners, that means December 31, 2025, is the final cutoff to claim up to $1,200 back on a qualifying HVAC upgrade.

So, if your furnace is aging out… or you’ve been thinking about switching to a high-efficiency heat pump… well, the clock’s ticking.

Hard-earned know-how, from our shop to your home

Here’s What You Can Still Get

Section 25C – Covers 30% of your install cost (up to $1,200/year).

It applies to:

  • Efficient AC systems
  • Heat pumps
  • Energy-smart gas furnaces
  • Insulation and duct sealing

Good systems that run quieter, cleaner, and cost less to operate.

Section 25D – 30% credit for things like geothermal heat pumps and solar panels.

No cap, but HVAC-specific items are sunsetting sooner.

These were meant to last through 2032. Now we’ve got months, not years.

What It Means Out Here in the Willamette Valley

Most homes in and around Salem weren’t built for energy savings. Old ducts leak. Units run too long. Utility bills climb. And when things finally break, they break during a heat wave or a cold snap.

That’s when most folks call. And that’s fine—we’re ready when you are.

But if you’re thinking ahead (good on you!), a couple hours now might save you a few hundred bucks later. Or more.

Where to Go from Here

If you’re curious what credits you’d qualify for—or just want to know what a new system would cost—we’re here.

If your system’s still solid, we’ll tell you. If it’s time for a change, we’ll help you sort out your options—what qualifies, what fits your home, what fits your budget.

There’s still time. But not much.
