Repair

Something’s not working. Let’s figure out what. Most heating and cooling problems have a clear cause. A technician who knows what to look for can usually diagnose it in one visit and fix it the same day. That’s what we do.

Common Problems We Fix

A fair number of repair calls turn out to be maintenance issues. We’ll tell you which one you’re dealing with.

No heat or no cooling

Could be a thermostat, a failed capacitor, a tripped limit switch, a refrigerant issue, or the igniter. We’ll find it.

Short cycling

System kicks on and off repeatedly without completing a full cycle. Usually an airflow problem, a dirty filter, or an oversized system issue.

Strange noises

Banging, squealing, rattling, or grinding each point to different problems. None of them should be ignored.

System runs but doesn't heat or cool well

Refrigerant low, coils dirty, ductwork leaking, or the system is undersized for the load. We’ll diagnose before we recommend anything.

Water around the unit

Typically a clogged condensate drain line. Usually a quick fix if caught early.

High energy bills without a clear reason

A system that’s losing efficiency shows up in your utility bill before it completely fails. A tune-up often catches what’s causing it.

Spanners. Various spanners. Set of wrench tool equipment.

What to Expect

We diagnose before we repair. We’ll tell you what’s wrong, what it takes to fix it, and what it costs. You decide whether to proceed. No work starts without your approval.

Most repairs are completed in a single visit. If we need to order a part, we’ll tell you upfront and give you a realistic timeline.

Repair costs typically fall between $100 and $600 depending on the issue and the system. Diagnostics are straightforward — we charge for our time, not for an inflated estimate.

Repair or Replace?

We’ll give you a straight answer on this.

If a system is older and the repair cost is more than a third of the replacement cost, replacement usually makes more economic sense. If the system is relatively new and the repair is straightforward, fix it. We’re not going to push you toward a new unit if the one you have has years left in it.

If you’re on the fence, ask us. We’d rather you make a decision you’re happy with than one you regret six months later.

What We Repair

Common Questions About Repair

How quickly can you get to me?
For urgent situations, we triage calls and get out as fast as we can. Office hours are Mon–Fri, 7 AM–4:30 PM. Maintenance plan members get priority scheduling.
Do you charge for the diagnosis?
We charge for our technician’s time. The diagnostic visit is part of the service call. If you approve the repair, the diagnosis is rolled into the job.
What if the repair doesn't fix the problem?
We make it right. If we repair something and it’s not fixed, we come back and sort it out. That’s not a marketing line — it’s how we’ve operated since 1994.
Can I get an estimate over the phone?
For most repairs, we need to see the system first. Giving you a number without looking at it would be guessing, and guessing doesn’t help you. We’ll tell you the service call fee upfront.
What if my system is under manufacturer warranty?
Let us know when you call. We’ll confirm warranty coverage before any work starts.
