Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Water and wastewater facilities demand a mechanical contractor who can install the full scope. Corrosive air, large-volume ventilation, specialty materials. That’s the environment. We install the sheet metal systems and the HVAC, and we fabricate the custom pieces the job calls for in our own Stayton shop.

The Work Is Different Here

The air inside a water or wastewater facility has to move. A lot of it, in the right direction. Foul air goes out. Fresh air comes in. Equipment rooms stay cool. And none of it releases contaminated air to the atmosphere.

That takes large ductwork and high-capacity exhaust. It takes filtration sized to code. It takes air conditioning sized for electrical equipment that runs 24 hours a day. Not a standard commercial load.

Material selection matters too. Stainless and galvanized ductwork corrode in these environments. We use fiberglass ductwork where the air chemistry demands it. That’s not a workaround. That’s the right call for the application.

We install the whole system, not just the equipment. Custom transitions, equipment enclosures, the field-fit pieces that don’t show up on the cut sheet. When the drawings don’t match the building, we fabricate the new piece in our Stayton shop and bring it to the site. The schedule keeps moving.

Why Contractors Choose Santiam

Both scopes, one sub. We install sheet metal systems. We install HVAC. We fabricate custom components in-house. That’s three conversations most GCs have to have with three different contractors. With us, it’s one.

Straight answers on scope and timelines. No surprises when conditions change. Work that passes inspection the first time. When something comes up, we call it out early.

We’ve worked alongside general contractors on some of the more demanding mechanical projects across Oregon and Southwest Washington. The ones who come back know we’ll show up ready and won’t make the job harder than it has to be.

Water & Wastewater Facility Services

Install

Sheet metal systems and HVAC for water and wastewater facilities. Corrosion-resistant ductwork, high-capacity exhaust, atmospheric-release filtration, custom transitions and enclosures. One sub, full scope.

Maintain

These systems run around the clock. Scheduled preventative maintenance keeps them running at spec. We schedule around your facility operations so maintenance doesn’t become an emergency.

Repair

When something goes down in a treatment facility, it usually can’t wait. We know these systems. Our shop can fabricate a replacement part if the failed piece is no longer available off the shelf.

Common Questions About Water & Wastewater Projects

Do you install sheet metal systems as well as HVAC?
Yes. Ductwork, custom fittings, equipment enclosures, architectural sheet metal on the building. That’s our full scope alongside the HVAC. Most mechanical contractors outsource the custom fabrication. We don’t.
Why is fiberglass ductwork used in wastewater facilities?
The air is corrosive. It degrades metal over time. Fiberglass holds up where stainless and galvanized don’t. We spec the right material for the application based on what the air chemistry actually demands.
What filtration is required before releasing air to the atmosphere?
Oregon code and federal standards require specific filtration before foul air can be exhausted outside. The requirements vary by facility type and process zone. We build to those standards and document what we install.
How do you handle HVAC for electrical equipment rooms?
Electrical equipment here generates significant heat and runs continuously. That requires dedicated, properly sized cooling. We size and install based on the actual load.
Can you work in an operating facility?
Yes. We coordinate with your operations team and sequence work to keep the facility running. Most mechanical work in an active treatment facility requires phased execution. That’s standard for us.
What's your service area?
Our commercial team serves the four corners of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
