The Scope

The scope was substantial. Twenty thousand square feet of roofing, three thousand square feet of wall panels, twelve hundred square feet of composite panels, flashings on eighty windows and doors, and large custom gutters and fascia throughout. The roof was a multi-stage system built to meet thermal and structural engineering requirements and carry a 20-year weathertight warranty. The wall panels had to land on a strict layout to hit louvered panel locations precisely. No wiggle room.

The Challenge

Coastal weather made the roofing work hard. High winds and rain, pitch changes, height differences, and framing issues that had to be worked around without losing time. Multiple trades were on site at once — plumbers, electricians, framers, waterproofing, siders — and every one of them needed to keep moving. The crew coordinated across all of it with limited resources and a firm deadline. They were also away from home for months to make it happen.

The Details

Near the end of the job, another trade damaged a drainage grate that was no longer in production. It had to tie into the existing system. Santiam fabricated a replacement in-house. It looked factory-made.

The Result

Contractor got a quality product on time. Punch list was minimal.
