When It's Hot, You Don't Want to Hear "We're Backed Up Two Weeks"

Oregon summers used to be forgiving. That changed after the 2021 heat dome. Temperatures pushed past 110 degrees across the Valley, and a lot of homes found out they weren’t as ready as they thought.

We’ve been doing cooling work in this region since 1994. We know which systems hold up, which ones struggle in the heat, and how to size equipment for the houses that are actually out here. Not some average square footage in a manufacturer’s brochure.

When your AC goes out in July, we’ll tell you what’s wrong, what it costs, and when we can get there. No runaround.

Warning Signs

Signs Your Cooling System Needs Attention

No cold air

Running but not cooling. Could be refrigerant, compressor, or something simpler. Either way, worth a call.

Warm spots in the house

If some rooms won’t cool down, it’s usually a ductwork or zoning issue.

Strange noises

AC shouldn’t clank, squeal, or grind. Those sounds mean something’s wearing out.

Energy bills spiking

An inefficient system works harder to do less. You pay for it every month.

Ice on the unit

Ice on a cooling system is not normal. Turn it off and call us.

Your system is 12–15 years old

Not broken yet, but worth a conversation about what replacement looks like before it fails on the hottest day of the year.

Common Questions About Cooling

How often should I have my AC serviced?
Once a year, ideally in the spring before you need it. A tune-up catches small problems before they become expensive ones in July.
Is a heat pump better than a central AC?
Depends on your home. Heat pumps are more efficient and do double duty for heating and cooling. Central AC is simpler and often cheaper upfront. We’ll walk you through both options and tell you what makes sense for your house.
My AC is running but the house isn't cooling down. What's wrong?
Could be a few things: low refrigerant, a dirty filter, a failing compressor, or ductwork leaking. Hard to say without a look. Call us and we’ll get you an answer.
Do you offer financing on new equipment?
Yes. If you’re looking at a new system, we can walk you through financing options.
How long does a central AC system last?
Most systems run 15–20 years with decent maintenance. If yours is pushing that range, it’s worth factoring in repair costs vs. what a new system would run.
Do you service all brands?
Yes. If it’s a cooling system, we work on it.
