What Is a Ductless Mini-Split?

A ductless mini-split is a heating and cooling system with two parts: an outdoor compressor and one or more indoor air handlers. No duct runs. Each indoor unit controls its own zone.

They’re efficient because there’s no ductwork to lose energy through. They’re flexible because you can heat or cool just the rooms you’re using. And they go in through a small hole in an exterior wall — most single-zone installs are done in a day.

We size the unit for the space, run the line set, and commission the system before we leave. Single-zone or multi-zone — we handle both.

Maintain

Filters, coils, condensate lines. Annual cleaning keeps efficiency up and catches small problems before they become expensive ones. We take on any brand for maintenance. New installs get a complimentary checkup about a year after installation. At that point you can sign up for our preventive maintenance program, which extends labor coverage beyond the one-year warranty.

Repair

Refrigerant issues, error codes, frozen units — we work on all major brands, not just what we install. If it’s not worth fixing, we’ll tell you that too.

How many indoor units do I need?
One per zone is typical — a zone being a room or open area you want to control independently. We’ll look at your space and tell you what makes sense.
Can a mini-split heat in cold weather?
Yes. Modern units work well below freezing — most are rated down to 5°F or lower. For most of the year in this valley, a mini-split handles it on its own.
How long does installation take?
A single-zone install is usually one day. Multi-zone systems with multiple indoor units take longer — we’ll give you a realistic timeline when we quote the job.
What brands do you install?
For new installs, we use Hisense and Daikin. For repairs and maintenance, we work on all major brands.
